DART’s Resort Transit Bus Service
DART First State’s Resort Transit bus service operates from Memorial Day weekend until mid-September. Resort Transit runs 7 bus routes in the resort area, serving Rehoboth Beach and the Boardwalk, Lewes, Long Neck, Dewey Beach, Bethany Beach, South Bethany Beach, Fenwick Island, and Ocean City, MD. The service operates 7 days a week from 7 AM to 1 AM. All buses are air-conditioned, ADA accessible and equipped with bike racks.
DART’s Rehoboth Park & Ride lot is located just off of Route 1 on Shuttle Road, just north of the entrance to Rehoboth Avenue. Park for $8.00 per car per day and you'll receive up to four (4) free unlimited ride daily bus passes. For customers not using the Park & Ride, the one-way cash fare is $1.00, or ride all day long with a Daily Pass for $2.10.
DART’s Route 305, Beach Connection, operates from Memorial Day weekend to Labor Day weekend and provides bus service from Wilmington to Rehoboth Beach on Friday nights, Saturdays, Sundays and holidays. Route 305 stops at the Wilmington Train Station, Christiana Mall, Smyrna Rest Stop, Scarborough Road Park & Ride lot in Dover, Super Walmart in Milford, and the Rehoboth Park & Ride lot.
The Beach Connection is a comfortable motor coach that offers 45 seats, 2 wheelchair positions along with under coach storage compartments for beach gear and luggage. The one-way cash fares are $7.50 from Wilmington and $4.50 from Dover. Riders are encouraged to buy an anywhere pass for $9.45, which can also be used on all the Resort Transit routes.
As always, the best value for riding the bus is to purchase a Daily Pass. The cost of the Daily Pass is $2.10. The Daily Pass allows customers to ride any bus route in Sussex County all day long.
The DARTCard is a discounted stored value card (used just like cash) that can be purchased at DART First State sales outlets, or online, and is available in seven different denominations. For an even greater discount, the DARTCard can be used to purchase a Daily Pass on the bus! DARTCards cannot be re-charged, therefore, when the value runs out, a new card has to be purchased.
