Named for its most famous resident, Colonel David Hall, the Governor of Delaware from 1802-1805. Across Kings Highway from Zwaanendael Museum, the house was built around 1790.
Colonel Hall enlisted as a private in the Revolutionary Army, was promoted to Captain in January 1776 and to Colonel in command of the Delaware Regiment in 1777. He was wounded in the Battle of Germantown. Was chairman of the Council of Safety in Sussex County.
