Or, if you're interested in something different on your drive, take I-95 S. through New York City to the Garden State Parkway (toll). Then take the Garden State Parkway south to Cape May, N.J., and the Cape May-Lewes Ferry. The ferry will take you to Lewes, Del., and you can drive from there into the town of Lewes or go to Route 1 S. to go to Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany or Fenwick Island, Delaware, or to Ocean City, Maryland.
Note: If you don't want to drive through New York City on I-95, you can take I-95 S. from Connecticut to I-287 at Port Chester. I-287 will take you around New York City to the Garden State Parkway. You can then take the Garden State Parkway (toll) to I-95 south of the city or continue on the Parkway if you want to take the Cape May-Lewes Ferry.
To Ocean City, Maryland: At Milford, stay on Route 113 S. all the way to the Delaware-Maryland line. For North Ocean City, take Route 113 to Route 54 and head east along the Delaware-Maryland state line. For central Ocean City, take Route 113 to Route 90 east across the bridge. For West Ocean City and Downtown Ocean City, take Route 113 to Route 50 East.
To Delaware Beaches: At Milford, take Route 1 south all the way to the beaches. Lewes, Rehoboth, Dewey, Bethany, South Bethany and Fenwick are all located on Route 1. (Note: If you are driving to Bethany, South Bethany or Fenwick on a Saturday afternoon, you can avoid the Lewes-Rehoboth-Dewey traffic jams by taking Route 113 at Milford and driving south to Route 26 in Dagsboro. Route 26 takes you to Route 1 in Bethany and you can turn south on Route 1 for South Bethany and Fenwick).
