Beach-Net! Guide to the Delaware-Maryland Beaches

STOP 3
Trees, Pink Lady's Slipper

Photo: A turtle keeps a wary eye out for intruders.

The loblolly pines and sweet gum trees here are common in the Atlantic Coastal Plain ecosystem.

American holly, sweet-bay magnolia, and highbush blueberry live in the shade of the larger trees.

Also supported are cinnamon, royal and chain ferns.

Also here you will find the rare, beautiful wild orchid called the Pink Lady's Slipper.
